Nels was a gentleman, through and through. I very much enjoyed golfing with him -particularly in the early morning when the dew was heavy; I can still see Nels strolling in the grass with a couple rolls in his pants to keep them dry. I, along with all the Young at Heart, will miss him.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the entire family.
Uncle Nelson was very special to us. His smile and cheerful nature was always a pleasure. I will always remember when I lived with Uncle Nelson and Aunt Ruth. We enjoyed many happy experiences together in those two years. I remember teasing him by sharing some of my Anatomy class experiences at the dinner table. We would laugh together as he covered his ears.
Ron has fond memories of spending time golfing with Uncle Nelson and seeing all of his antique golf clubs.
We love you Uncle Nelson and will miss you.
Dear Ruth and family:
Your name comes to mind when we remember wonderful times in Niagara Falls. Nelson was also ‘my banker’ – when I came in with my deposit from my paper route, he was always very kind. Camp, sleepovers, meals – lots of great times. Mom and Dad will be saddened to hear that another of the faithful has gone on before them. Praying for strength for this day.
Dear Ruth and family:
We extend to you our sincere sympathy at this time of loss. Even though we know the time is coming, it is always with grief when the time of passing comes. We have some very pleasant memories of Nelson and you along with a number of the family connection with Darlene being married to Ruth’s nephew, John Hewgill. Nelson was always so cheerful and such an blessing to us.
We are unable to attend the visitation or the Funeral Service but want you to know that our prayers are with you.
Sincerely and prayerfully,
Roger and Ruth
We extend our deepest sympathies to Aunt Ruth and family. I was so very privledged to have gotten to know and respect Uncle Nelson. When hunting we would sit for literally hours chatting about everything you could possibly dream of. To me his faith and honesty as a man, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend made him who he was. Sincere and solid. I can’t wait to hunt with him again. Love Always. David
Aunt Ruth, Dianne, Darlene and Ken and the entire family- please accept our sympathy on Uncle Nelson’s passing. We are so sorry for your loss. We are so sorry that we will not be able to attend the wake or funeral. Know that we are thinking about all of you and praying for you at this difficult time.
I am moved all lovely messages friends and family have left for the family of my Uncle Nelson . Being the youngest of his Brother Noble’s grandchildren, I might have been the luckiest. I spent every summer at Buckshot Lake with Uncle Nelson and Aunt Ruth and was taught values and wisdom and patience. Uncle Nelson’s loving guidance gave me the ‘courage’ to bait a fishhook and clean the catch preparing later in the kitchen with Auntie Ruth for our cozy meal, playing Trivial Persuit late into the evening. He was the champion of that game and I think he was the champion at everything he did and everyone who got to know him
Uncle Nelson will be sadly missed, and never forgotten.
Always in my heart. God Bless You.
This is in remembrance of a friendship established many years ago. Heartfelt sympathy to Ruth and family.
I would like to express my deepest sympathy regarding your loss. I can truly understand how it feels to loose a loved one in death. These must undoubtedly be some very hard times for your family. In such times, it is very difficult to find comfort, considering the harsh world that we live in. In my case, and in the case of many, we can always find comfort in God’s Word the Bible. For example we find God’s promise to all mourning ones in Isaiah 61:2,3. I hope this brings comfort to you and your family.
