Carole
My sympathy on the passing of your mother. I last saw her when she attended Carl’s funeral and she touched my heart then as she did growing up next door. My prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.
Hugs

Dear Carol & Family,
Just wanted you to know how special your mother, Kaja was to our family. My mother Evelyn Jollimore knew your mom from years ago when they sang in Sweet Adelines–they shared wonderful memories of that time. Mom & we were tickled when they were reunited in January, during my mom’s respite stay at Kensington, and again in May when my mother stayed shortly, at Kensington.
Your mother was a ray of sunshine, & I know that she will be very much missed by all her friends(staff, residents, & volunteers) at Kensington. We will never forget her determination, spirit, wit, & last but not least her whistle.
We still find ourselves saying wouldn’t “Kaja get a kick out of that”?!! She is unforgettable and became a part of our family unit while mom was at Kensington. As we are, my mom is saddened to learn of your mom’s passing. We looked forward to going back to have lunch with your mom, & bringing her over to McGarrell Place to lunch with my Mom.
We are consoled by the ease of her passing, and the fact that she is reunited with her true love.
Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts at this very difficult time, & that your mother’s memory will always be one that we treasure.
Sincerely,
Lesley Tchorek
I have known Kaja since I joined London Sweet Adelines 1978. Kaja faced difficult times after she had an aneurysm and recovered and learned to walk and talk again. It was a miracle that she had survived. Kaja had a wonderful sense of humor that was enjoyed by all. I really admired her tenacity. Please accept my condolences. Rhea Johnston (Markus)
