My sympathy goes out to you on the loss of a man who was respected and loved.
I never met Elmer but his name came up often in our genealogy research. Many people thought he might be able to help us connect our 2 families. Unfortunately, you had left Chatham and I never found out how to contact you. I don’t like to impose on your grief, but if anyone has the genealogy addiction as we do, we’d love to hear from you. 60 years ago someone from his family came to a 50th Anniversary open house & said they had the proof we were related but it was never followed up on. We’d sure love to know. We have a great deal of family history but mainly about 2 of 3 brothers who came from Lincolnshire about 1850 and not much about the siblings they left behind. We believe Elmer may have been descended from one of them. Would love to know if you do.
