Aunt Helen,
Jean and I would like to say that we are thinking of you during this difficult time. Even the hope of seeing our loved ones once again does not erase the sense of loss. Please be sure that our thoughts are with you.
Love,
Wayne & Jean
Dear Helen,
My sympathy is with you in the loss of Les. There is the comfort of knowing he is with the Lord, but it is still difficult to be parted.
May God give you strength and comfort.
Ursula
My brother, Ian, and I (Ron
Spurgeon) were Sunday School
students of Les during the
early 1950’s. Les was a wonderful teacher, but very
practical in that he took his
classes on skating trips, trips to Springbank park and
other. Ian and I gave our lives to Christ and chose to serve Him during one of the Sunday School classes in 1954. I am now 67 years old and indeed did serve our Lord since I accepted Christ as my saviour at age 12.
We only shared a couple of
years with Les then Les moved
on to another church, but Les
was always remembered by me and I have always been grateful that our Lord used
Les in bringing me to Him.
I still have some photos taken
by Les during an outing at Springbank Park. We walked from the pump house up the hill to the reservoir and back down.
Anyhow, I have nothing but
great memories about Les. He
was a true Christian example
to young people.
I will not be attending the funeral tomorrow (Saturday) but I wish all the best to the entire family of Les. He
will be missed by many and especially by his family.
It is good to remember that, while Les is not with us, he is indeed with our Lord.
Yours in Christ
Ron Spurgeon
