I first met Gertrude while volunteering at the McCormick Home six years ago, and over those years, our relationship blossomed into a very special bond that I was always hold dear to my heart. Every time I spoke with Gertrude, she would make me laugh and smile because of feistiness and unrelenting spirit. She was also one of the most caring people that I have ever met. She was such a wonderful friend, and I feel so fortunate to have known her and been a part of her life.
