I will miss Joan a lot. She inspired me with her kindness, laughter and concern for others. I’m really sorry she has had to leave us so early.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the entire family. Anyone who begins their obituary “The fat lady is singing” obviously had a tremendous sense of humour and wit and now we both know where Paula, her beloved daughter, got her sense of humour, and her great ability to tell jokes– sometimes…

Please accept my sincere condolences on the death of Joan. She was a member of the Retired Teachers’ of Ontario District 8, and was honoured just this past fall at our Annual Meeting of the District. She had been a past-president of District 8. She will be fondly remembered by all of us members of District 8.
If her daughter Paula Waugh ever taught in Forest at St. John Fisher School, I taught with her back in the 1980s. Again, sincerest condolences.

Dear Bob, Paula, Geoff and Lauree,
Remembering my Aunt Joan brings back all the tumultuous reunions and our Dad and Joan partying on years ago. Our sympathies to Bob and everyone. We know that you will live up to Joans wishes in her Obituary.
As our Mother Gladys would have said.
