Jon you obviously will be missed. You and I ran a lot in high school and kept the friendship warm over the years. Many thanks for those fun times and one thing for sure you will not be forgotten. Cannot say anything further as I am extremely heart broken by your passing. Goes to show you we are here for a short time and then hopefully we meet again in heaven. Life is fragile. Our heart goes out to Joy and the kids and our deepest condolences.

Joy, Michelle, David and family:
Our sincere sympathies to you all at this time of loss. Our thoughts are with you. Take comfort in the many memories you will always have.
I will always remember him as Mr. Knight. I started in his class midway through grade 6 and and he was always there to encourage me to do my best. Thank you Mr. Knight.
Michelle, Andy and families. Please know you are in our prayers at this time. I did not have an opportunity to meet your Dad Michelle, but I am very fortunate to know. I am so sorry for your loss. The words are hard to express to you. So to borrow a few lines from my song… I guess there is no right or wrong. I feel his essence is and will be soaring high. Take care!
I was a grade 6 and 7 student of Mr Knight at Roosevelt in the early 70’s. I remember his kind and thoughtful way of including us in all aspects of his teaching…including the guitar afternoons, “Proud Mary” and “Jeremiah was a Bullfrog”. We had alot of fun….and then he was teaching at Prince Charles when my children began school there! What a pleasure to see him again! My heartfelt sympathies to the family in their loss
Our family is heartbroken to hear of Jon’s passing. Strength and love to the entire family.
Lesley
I was saddened to read of Jon’s passing yesterday. I met him on a few occassions as the teacher of his son David at Laurier s.s. Dave was a fine young man who reflected his dad’s character and integrity. I’m unable to attend the service due to mid term exams being on. I’d like to hear from Dave in the near future, to catch up on him and his family.
My most sincere condolences to Joy and the family. Such a lovely and friendly man. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers.
Jon was a loyal friend, a wonderful grandfather, a proud and supportive father and father-in-law, and a dedicated and loving husband.
We will miss him while we treasure the good times and happy memories we shared with him and Joy and our extended families.
If, as a husband and father, Jon Knight was anywhere near as compassionate and kind as he was as a teacher, his family was very lucky to have him all those years. He was my Grade 6 & 7 teacher at F.D. Roosevelt in the early seventies, and I must say, he was always my favourite. God bless all of you.
Dear Joy: Please accept our most sincere sympathies. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Our hearts go out to you.

SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR LOSS
To the Knight Family,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss.
I was very lucky to have Mr Knight as a Grade 6 teacher and Coach in public school and knew him through Dave.
He was always such a cheerful person and the kids loved him.
I remember him most for the many times he stayed with us kids after school to ensure we became track stars.
It paid off when we came home with medals.
He will be greatly missed.
