Our sincere condolences on your loss. We have fond memories of “Smitty” taking his long walks around our neighbourhood. He was always so proud of his age and his ability to outwalk even the youngest of all of us.
He will be missed.
We will always remember the great family Christmases with both our families and parents…great memories
I will truly miss my dearest Uncle Elworth! He was a very caring and gentle man. He was always there to lend an ear and helping hand. My sincere sympathies extend to his entire family. Anyone that new Uncle Elworth loved him immensely.

Ray, Elaine, Meghan, Tamara. You are on our hearts. We love you and are with you. When you are sitting still, and if you think of Brian, you will feel all four of us with you. Your Dad looks like a lovely man, Ray. A happy man. Looking at his picture right now, I wish I could give him a big hug. I’m sorry that we didn’t ever have the opportunity to meet him. He’s at peace now, and happy still. Love and warm hugs, Judy, Erin and Brad and I know Brian is right there with you and your girls Ray. xxooxxoo

Hi Dad,
You were the best father-in-law a daughter could have! You were always supportive and encouraging to Ray and I as well as Meghan and Tamara…you even did the dishes after every meal! I will always hold a very special spot in my heart for you …you will be in my thoughts forever! I love you….Elaine
Roger and I had the pleasure of Mr. Smith’s company at a dinner party we held to celebrate Elaine and Aly’s birthdays. It ws a joy to have him join us and at the end of the evening we both commented that we only hope we could be that sociable in our mid nineties. We will all miss him he added much to many lives. We send our love and condolences. Mary & Roger
Dearest Elworth,
I will always remember your big smile, generous soul and in particular the way you cared for Moppy in her latter years. You modeled kindness, strength, determination and love of family and community. I always enjoyed seeing you when I visited London from Vancouver.
Love to all,
Ginny
I knew “Smitty” from his days as a RCEME bartender and of course his time at the HUNTER .We spent many happy hours together over the years. All his friends from the CPO’S/MWO Mess will his smiling face.
So sorry to hear about your dad Ray. My sympathy to you, Elaine and girls.
Sorry we couldn’t make it to the funeral. I just checked my email now and saw funeral date.
Take care of yourself and look forward to be able to visit you all soon.
Lots of love,
Pete and Gail and girls.
Our condolences to you. Smitty was a wonderful messmate and bartender for our unit. He was always the smiling face welcoming you into the mess. We all only have fond memories of him and his service. Never a harsh word, kind and friendly. It is with great regret that Windsor members had difficulty attending his service. The unit had scheduled a full day start up making attendance difficult. Fond memories will thrive of him in the mess. Chiefs and POs, Warrant Officers and Sgts Mess, HMCS HUNTER
