To my dearest friend,
There truly are not enough words to tell you how much I will miss you. We have been friends for 31 years, not nearly long enough, but in those years we shared a lot of laughter and good times. You saw me at my worst and my best, but you accepted me for both, and that is what great friends do. You were true to yourself and were always yourself, never pretending to be anyone that you weren’t, right until your last few days with us.
I love you and miss you and will do so the rest of my life. Thank you so much for being a part of my life, I am a better person for knowing you.
Always and forever,
Deb xoxo

I’d like to offer my deepest condolences to Alanna’s family during this very difficult time. Alanna was a wonderful friend, always full of laughter and so very vibrant – it’s impossible to believe that she was taken from us so young. She never missed a brunch at the HotHouse Café…. and I know that every member of the “Breakfast Club” has fond memories of the years we were able to spend with Alanna. To say that she will be missed wouldn’t be nearly enough….

Beautiful Alanna,
You were taken too young.
I met Alanna when I was 12. I still remember our Author Ford school trip in grade 8 to Washington D.C. Janis, Debbie, Alanna and myself roomed together for the whole week. The maid actually stopped cleaning our room because it was so messy! 🙂 We thought we were so cool when we bought these hats there and wore them the whole week, and of course we all wore pearls with a knots tied in them. We were so cool! ha ha. That’s just one storey that I thought I could share.
I feel so blessed to have known Alanna throughout the years and was lucky enough to share some great times and laughs with Her. Her laugh was definitely infectious (as everyone mentioned). She was always so strong, and as Debbie said, was always true to herself, never tried to be anyone but “Alanna”.
We are so sad to have lost such a vibrant, wonderful person. We will miss you Alanna, but you will always be in our hearts forever!!!
Love always

I think I am still in shock from the news that I will never see Alanna again, hear her voice, or listen to her wonderful laugh. We worked together at HRG North America and she was a wonderful colleague and friend. We shared much laughter, even during difficult projects and I will miss her far more than I can possibly put into words.
She came to me in a dream last night – she must have known how devastated I am by the news of her passing – and she was the same Alanna that I will always remember.
My sincere condolences to her family at this time – I will sit with you in spirit tomorrow (Friday, 15 August) at 1pm ET and say my own farewell to such an unbelievable beautiful person.
Much Love

My dearest friend,
I’m still stunned by the fact that you’re no longer with us. Compared to the long list of loyal and heart-broken friends you have, I knew you for a short time, but that time was enough to create a friendship that I treasured and memories that I will treasure. Your passing has left me with sadness that won’t go away. Toronto will never be the same for me without you, as you took me under your Woodzee wing from the moment I arrived in your house and shared your wonderful group of friends with me. To a beautiful, honest, loyal friend – I will miss you so much and love you just as much. I’m sorry I can’t be there today, but I’m always thinking of you and always will.
My deepest sympathies to Karen, Keith, Mike and Annabelle too.

To the Woods family,
I just wanted to thank you for allowing me to share in the very personal memorial service for Alanna today. Alanna worked on my team at HRG for almost four years and she touched the lives of so many people at our company including mine with her sense of humour, positive energy and sense of calm, cool and collectiveness. She was part of our work family and we will miss her tremendously. We are planning on doing something to honour her memory in the next couple of weeks and we will make sure to include you in our plans. Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss and I hope you know she made a difference every day that she came to work..I know my entire team will always hold her dear in our hearts.

Earthbound Angel
Occasionally, we are graced with the presence of an earth bound Angel.
They are unable to stay with us long,
but while they do, they bring unprecedented joy and happiness to all they touch.
While they are here, we bask in their goodness and marvel at their contribution to the world.
When they leave, we are left with the devastation that comes with losing such a wonderful being,
but we must remember the earth bound Angels are not ours to keep.
They are ours to enjoy, learn from, and behold until they return home.
Thank you for sharing your angel, love Karen and Mitchell

Sadly, I just heard about the passing of a true dear friend. Alanna was my best childhood friend and for a time we spent nearly every day together. Alanna’s family welcomed me to their home many times and even when they may have lost sleep over our loud antics they were a great loving family.
To have Alanna taken from those that loved her is leaving my heart filled with sadness. Words cannot describe the sorrow I feel that a great friend is forever lost.
I will always look back on the good times we shared and I have many fond memories and stories to remember a kind lovely person.
To Kieth, Karen and Mike; please accept my deepest sympathies.
