Hello Readings family.
Emma and I will not be able to visit with you to personally convey our condolences, as we will be Aurora for a family gathering.
Please accept our deepest sympathies.
I started working at the “old” City Hall in 1954. At that time Orton Logan was City Treasurer and Stan was already working in the Department.
We got to know each other through work and in the 4th floor cafeteria. Also spent many good times playing cards together and some golf.
He probably had one of the longest tenures of any of the City staff.
He was a great guy and will be greatly missed by all.
Alex Dobronyi
Our sincere sympathy to the Readings family on your loss. We have some wonderful memories of Stan while we both worked at the Holiday Inn in London. I worked in the catering office and arranged the Municipal Finance yearly convention and Volker who was the Executive Chef of course did all the meals with his team of cooks. We had some major fun with Stan at those events and also later when he came for lunch to our restaurant with the “Old Boys (and girls) from city hall”. He was a great guy with a heart of gold. We’ll miss him. Chris & Volker (Volker’s on Hyde Park)
So very sorry to read of your loss. My deepest sympathy to you, your wife and family.
Dear John, MaryAnn and Family,
We are very sorry to hear of Stan’s sudden passing. We wish that we could be there to give our condolences, but we are with Doug, who is presently in the hospital. He also sends his condolences to you all. We hope that the memories and support of family and friends help you through this very difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Ken, Kathleen, and Doug Branton
I have many good memories of Stan when we worked at McCormicks in 1942 and at City Hall during the 70’s. We went roller skating Saturday afternoons at the old London Arena in the l940’s. My wife Shirley and I went to school with Stan at South Collegiate. We have many good memories.
Dear Bob & John,
So sorry to hear about Stan.
I felt he was such a lovely man to talk to, so sweet. And Gig, so very very sorry to hear about his death.
It will be difficult, time will heal.
With sincere sympathy,
Julie McTavish
