Peacefully at the London Health Sciences Centre – University Hospital, on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, Paul Deorksen of London in his 40th year. Loving husband of Lisa Deorksen. Proud father of Katie and Jared. Predeceased by his parents Robert Deorksen and Pauline Keeler. Dear brother of Peter. Dear son-in-law of Marcel Schiller and late Paulette. Dear brother-in-law of Jennie Bosnali and her husband Taner. Also missed by his nieces and nephews. Paul will be deeply missed by his brothers and sisters at the L.P.S. Paul’s life and Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, London on Friday, November 9th, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, 307 Commissioners Road West, London ON N6J 1Y4. (A. I remember Paul from our days at the Ontario Police College. Paul was in another class but we had a very small intake so we all knew of one another. Very good lad! Paul and I were partners for almost a year working a downtown patrol car. Over time we talked of many things, sports of course, job and family. Family usually dominated our conversation. He loved his children, Kate and Jared and adored you. Family was everything to him. I will always treasure my time with Paul and remember what a great Police Officer he was. My wife, Patricia, always knew I was safe when I was working with Paul.

It is with shock to hear of Paul’s death. I knew him a very long time ago through my sister. I remember Paul being very pleasant and having a great sense of humour. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless.

I did not have the opportunity to work closely with Paul. I know that Paul was well respected by his fellow officers, and he was known for his spirit, positive attitude, and sense of humor. Paul had a way of making people he met feel accepted and was a very friendly person. I regret that I didn’t have the opportunity to know him better. Katie, Jared, and Lisa, please know that Paul was a great man that you can be proud of. He did good things, and he will be missed.

Paul will be deeply missed as he touched the hearts of so many people, even those he didn’t know. I never knew Paul, even though I am a member of the LPS. Yet, I admired him from the distance because of his great courage and faith.

To the family,my deepest sympathy goes out to you. I met Paul when I was in the University Hospital and had had some surgery. Iknew Paul was very ill but just continued to struggle on. I’m a friend of a police officer with the force and Albert knew him when he visited me. Please know that my thought and prayers are with you.
