McCALLUM, Dennis Russell
(Retired Captain, London Fire Department). Suddenly at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Sunday, October 28th, 2007 in his 66th year. Dennis McCallum of Port Severn, formerly of London. Beloved husband of Helen McCallum (nee Korhonen). Much loved father of Kristine and her husband Dave Guenther of London and Jon and his wife Cheryl of Smith Falls. Cherished papa of Taylor and Courtney. Loving brother of Brian McCallum and his wife Monica of London. Will be greatly missed by family and friends. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society (specify Colon Cancer or Childhood Cancer) would be greatly appreciated by the family and will be received by the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St. E. Orillia 1-866-399-6499. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Dennis’ Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 7097 Kilbourne Rd. W., Lambeth on Friday. November 2nd from 6 to 9 p.m.

Helen, John, Christine and families sorry to hear of Denny’s passing. He was an inspiration and larger then life figure to me growing up in Lambeth. One of the reason’s I chose to do what I do. To have the honour of working with him will never be forgotten. Also very sorry I couldn’t attend the celebration of his life at the Legion as I was in Chicago. Be strong in these days of sadness, our thoughts and prayers with you always.

Helen: We just heard a couple of days ago about Denny and we can’t express how very sorry we are to hear about your loss.
Denny was one of those ‘special’ people that you know throughout your life. Someone that you’re glad crossed your path. I know we didn’t see you both much, but nevertheless he was special.
