BROOKS…..
Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Dearness Home, London, on Wednesday, September 19th, 2007, Ameila (Doman) Brooks, in her 91st year, passed into the presence of her Lord. Beloved wife of Norman Brooks for 61 years. Loving mother of Donald Brooks and his wife Carol of Port Franks, Doug Brooks, Margaret Robichaud and her husband Wayne and Janice Brooks all of London. Proud grandmother of Carey (Tamsyn), Nate (Melissa), Jenna, Jasmine (Cris), Jeremy (Nicki), Jessica, Devon and the late Shawn (1986). She will also be missed by her 4 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her sisters Grace, Nita, Audrey and her brother Chester. Amelia was a Charter Member (1960) of Glen Cairn Baptist Church and Nursery Superintendent for many years. She was a gracious hostess to many dignitaries associated with Norman’s presidency of London Home Builders Association. Amelia was a stay-at-home Mom with legendary cooking prowess, whose life revolved around her family. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London, where the celebration of Amelia’s life will be held in the chapel on Friday, September 21, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. Amelia’s nephew Reverend Robert A. Norris from Florence, South Carolina will officiate. Interment will be later in Zion Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Glen Cairn Baptist Church – Library Fund, 345 Pond Mills Road, London ON N5Z 3X7.
