Dear Sheila/Family – Just a note to let you know that you are in my thoughts/prayers during this time. I know it is hard to say good-bye and let a loved one go – BUT – we KNOW that he is in a better place and enjoying the company of those gone on before him. He is out of pain and suffering. May the next few days be filled with loving memories or him and his many contributions to the church family. He will be missed by everyone. I know that mom would love to be there for you Sheila. She has mentioned many times to me how much she appreciated you and Ps. Karl and your love/support when she lost dad. She always speaks very highly of you and the times you talk on the phone and pray together. May the Lord watch over you and comfort you. Love. Ruth

Hello Karl and Cheryl.
Just had a pone call from Phil in Toronto telling me about your dear Dad.
I have tried phoning on the number Phil gave but it is obviously wrong, and this is the only contact I have been able to get from your website.
Sue and I want to send our deepest sympathies to you both, Sheila, and the family.
Over the years we have grown to love Karl and your mum, and they have been held in high regard by us as well as Anna and Steve.
Were it possible nothing would please me more than to be able to attend the funeral and thanksgiving and pay my respects to a valued friend.
If it possible for me to send a tribute that could be read, please email me and I will send it on.

A Tribute to Pastor Karl Thomas
The Apostolic Church in the United Kingdom holds Pastor Karl Thomas in the highest esteem as a faithful servant of God. His warm personality and unique sense of humour have endeared him to many of us who are proud to regard him as a personal friend. On his visits to Great Britain his ministry has been warmly received, particularly on the occasion when he preached at the Penygroes International Convention.
I can testify from personal experience to the warm welcome and lavish hospitality he and Sheila extended to ministers from the UK visiting Canada. We express our appreciation of the way Sheila has supported him unstintingly throughout his ministry. She is very much in our prayers at this time.
He was born and brought up in Pontypridd, South Wales, and never lost his love for his homeland and its people. Some time ago I had the privilege of accompanying him on a visit to the locations where he had spent his boyhood, and of listening to a multitude of stories he had to tell about those days.
He was patently loyal to the Apostolic Vision he had imbibed from his godly parents, and demonstrated his commitment to that vision by playing his part in the global Apostolic movement. His ministry within the Body of Christ will be sadly missed.
We extend our deepest sympathy to you as family as you go through this period of sadness. Pastor Karl was immensely proud of his sons, their wives and his grandchildren. You have this great consolation that he is now in the presence of his Lord and Saviour enjoying his reward for all he has done in his Master+óGé¼Gäós service.

Dear Shelia and all the family…. Karl was a truly amazing man that our entire family respected as a true man of God but also loved and appreciated as a friend and as a father. We will never forget all the wonderful times we had together in ministry while he pastored in the Toronto church. We remember August 20th 1998 when we had been ministering in a 4 week revival in Buffalo, NY. It was Matthew’s birthday and Evette and I asked him what he wanted to do that was something special that day. His reply was that he wanted to cross over into Canada, go to Toronto and have lunch with Pastor Karl! And we did! That’s what our son wanted to do on his 10th birthday! We love and appreciate you all. You have been in our thoughts and prayers for many weeks. You remain there today in this time of loss for those who remain in this world. But our loss is Karl’s great incomprehensible gain. He is more alive NOW at this very moment than any of us ever knew him in this life. And for that we rejoice even in this time of great sorrow. The relationship is not over…it’s just on a temporary hold for a season. We shall all see him again and the relationship we had here will only be magnified in God’s glory and presence for all of eternity in Karl’s new assignment and address…Heaven. We love you all.

Dear Pastors Karl and Cheryl,

I wish to extend my condolences to you and I pray that the peace of God which surpasses all human understanding will be with you. With much love,

Dear Karl, Cheryl and Sheila +óGé¼GÇ£ although I had a brief conversation with Cheryl late Wednesday afternoon, the line wasn+óGé¼Gäót good and I wanted to follow up with a more complete message.
We learned of Karl passing from our daughters this morning. We share with you all the sense of loss and disappointment that his effective, warm and strong ministry and presence is no longer with the many who loved him. We also share in your collective joy and relief that he is home at last with Jesus, no longer limited by failing health and completely whole in our Saviour+óGé¼Gäós good company.
His was a life well lived and with great impact for the Kingdom. We know he will be greatly missed especially so near to Karly+óGé¼Gäós wedding.

His commitment to Christ and His cause was so motivating. We were inspired when we heard that he and Sheila had taken on leading a church and overseeing a building program in their retirement +óGé¼GÇ£ what an amazing couple and what a great man of God.

Dear Sheila and all the Family and Friends of J. Karl Thomas,
I am so sorry for your great loss. Karl was a wonderful man of God, who inspired me personally from the first day I met him in 1988. He always brought such encouragement to me. He also was a great encouragement to the Lord’s brethren from many nations, having received leaders from many nations in his church. People like Bishop Silas Owiti and wife Winnie Owiti from Kenya; Missionary Prem Pradhan and Sundar Thapa from Nepal, Missionary Ben Barredo from the Philippinesand Dorothy and Freddie Sun from the China Mission of Christian Aid Mission. We were all blessed and strengthened by the wisdom and encouragement shared by Karl over the seven years that Karl devoted to our Board of Directors during the two terms he served. He was a man who loved Missions. I remember being so encouraged visiting the church he pastored at Castlefield Christian Fellowship and seeing the multicultural and multiethnic congregation he encouraged and believed in. I would like to say that the service for my bompa was wonderful. I felt that I was able to say a proper good bye to my grand father. I will forever miss his unselfish spirit and his strong beautiful kind laugh. My bompa was a wonderful man as many know this. I will be here for you Nana. You were so strong this weekend. I have been lucky to have both of you as grand parents. Bompa is now in a better place where he is not sick anymore. I hope he is golfing everyday and with people that have passed that he has loved. It is with great sorrow that I received the news of Pastor Karl’s great loss. This tragic event has probably brought unimaginable sorrow upon your family in a way that I may not even understand. I wish to extend my condolences to you and I pray that the peace of God which surpasses all human understanding will be with you. During this season of joy, it is probably difficult to comprehend such an occurrence but I hope and pray that this season, even through the hardships, you will be able to experience the true meaning of joy, peace and comfort.

With deep love and on-going prayer for all the family.

Pastor Cheryl,
Sorely missed for sure. The time I did spend with him was such a blessing. What a wonderful man, such a sweet spirit, I can only imagine how you are all feeling right now. The Lord has been placing Mrs. Thomas heavy on my heart for the past week. I will continue to pray for all of you.

Hey Nana i hope your doing well. I miss Bompa alot! Along with the rest of the family im sure. It’s been hard looking at pictures of Bompa and visiting the house and not seeing him in his chair. I break down everytime. I’m really happy to know that he’s in heaven now singing his favorite hymns and dancing with Jesus.

You are all in my prayers. I am honoured to have met Pastor Karl Sr. Sincerely, Mary
We express our most sincere sympathy and condolences to Sheila and all the family on the passing of Karl. Although we are thousands of miles away we share a sense of loss with you all. I (Keith) have many memories of Karl my cousin in our boyhood days here in Wales. When the family moved to Canada it was a great loss to us, but it was great gain for Canada. Throughout his life Karl was characterised by his energy, enthusiasm and commitment especially in respect of his Christian life and service. Many precious memories remain, but we have hope as we look to ultimate reunion in the presence of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
With our love,
Keith and Ann Thomas
Dear Sheila, Karl, Cheryl and family,
It was sad to hear the news that Karl senior had passed away. We have been thinking of all of you and praying that the God of all comfort will indeed comfort you in your grief. Please accept the love and sympathy of your Apostolic family in Australia at this time of loss.
We have had the privilege of meeting Pastor Karl senior on a number of occasions and what an energetic and inspiring person he was. He was the coordinator of the Apostolic World conference when it was held in Canada and he made every international delegate feel incredibly welcome in Toronto.
His commitment to Christ and His cause was so motivating. We were inspired when we heard that he and Sheila had taken on leading a church and overseeing a building program in their retirement +óGé¼GÇ£ what an amazing couple and what a great man of God.
The Apostolic community worldwide will miss this faithful apostle.
Love and blessings,

His spiritual leadership was an inspiration to me and to my wife Sharon and to the Board and Staff of Christian Aid Mission (now Intercede International. He has left us with a wonderful example to follow.
Our prayers are with all of the family and friends.
Sincerely yours,

I would like to say that the service for my bompa was wonderful. I felt that I was able to say a proper good bye to my grand father. I will forever miss his unselfish spirit and his strong beautiful kind laugh. My bompa was a wonderful man as many know this. I will be here for you Nana. You were so strong this weekend. I have been lucky to have both of you as grand parents. Bompa is now in a better place where he is not sick anymore. I hope he is golfing everyday and with people that have passed that he has loved. I will always hold you close to my heart Bompa and will never forget you.
Our hearts are with you as you mourn our beloved father, friend, and pastor who we believe is resting with our heavenly Father. May his soul rest in peace. We love you and are praying for you.
Dear David and Family,
So sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad. Fathers are such special people, who seem to work hard all their lives to provide a good life for their families. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
