Don, Betty and Family: Our condolences to you on the loss of your mother and grandmother.
To: Jeannie, Rae and Don: We are very saddened at the loss of Ella. She has been and always will be a part of our Kincardine summers. How we loved getting together with Ella and the Gurney family on the porch. Ella has been a great model for knowing how to enjoy life and love one’s family. You will miss her, how not, but her presence will never be gone for she lives in the hearts of those, like us, who love her.
Sorry we can’t be there, but our thoughts and love surround you. Cathy and Joe
Dear Ella will be sorely missed here at Inspirit. Her sweet presence and gentle ways are interwoven into the fabric of our little community here. I loved going into her apartment and seeing that twinkling smile and experience her warm hospitality. We have been blessed to know her. My prayers and thoughts are with you Don, Rae and Jeanie and all your families. Thankyou for sharing her with us. Love Cathy Chapin
We are so saddened to hear of your loss. Ella was gentle and kind, and how she loved to chat with passers-by such as ourselves! It was easy to see how much she loved her family and you could catch the twinkle in her eye as she watched the young grandchildren’s enthusiasm for cottage life! Her spirit will surely live on in them. We will miss her on the front porch and will remember her fondly.
Your Kincardine friends,
Craig & Lori

Our most recent memory is how your Mom enjoyed the Sunday morning gathering at the reunion this year & how she was looking forward to the next one!
She will be missed by many.

So sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. Gee, it’s been so long, but I naintain very fond memories of all of you — Don, Rae, especially Jeannie — and your mom and even crusty old Jim.
With loving memories and deep sympathy from Vivian (Tiffin) Wilson. I was a next door neighbour to the Rae family in Wingham.
Sorry to hear the loss of your mother. I found your Dad and Mom very wonderful people when you lived on the end of Scott st. in Wingham. i hope that you (Rae) kept in touch with some of the folks back home. Bless you again may God keep you and your family safe. Don and Evonne Carter

We have lost a very wonderful lady however our memories will live on. We visited with Ella and her immediate family at the cottage last summer as Ella “held court” on the front porch. She was so happy to be surrounded by her family and friends and we will always remember her sweet smile and twinkle in her eyes. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Jean, Rae and Don and your families too. Love, Judy, Dauby and Pearl
Don,Rae,Jeannie and families.
We were very saddened to hear of your loss. We have many fond memories of Mrs. Gurney (and Mr. Gurney, too), growing up at the cottage next door. She was a gracious and lovely lady, always smiling and having a kind word to everyone. We will miss our visits with her on the porch. We look forward to seeing you in Kincardine next year or sooner. May you find peace and comfort through family and friends. Our prayers are with you all.

I am very sorry I have just learned of Ella’s passing. I am a friend of Mary McKay, who was a dear friend of Ella. I often visited with Ella when I came to see Mary and in fact I have a lovely picture of her at a birthday party for Norel Loney (deceased Jan. 08) that Mary had in her apartment. We had such a lovely time. Ella was a real sweetheart and I know she will be missed by all who knew her. Ronalee and John Porter…London
Don, We were very sorry to learn of your mother’s death. Sounds like she was in pretty good health this past summer to have spent time in Kincardine at the cottage. Please accept our condolences and pass them on to Jean and Rae. Sincerely, Bob R.
