Peter, I am very sorry to hear about your Mom. She was my Mom’s best friend ( Jean) and they had a wonderful relationship. They must have known each other since the very early days of IODE when Byron wasn’t even part of London. Hopefully now they are happily playing bridge and having afternoon tea.
Lin, Peter and Families,
I was extremely saddened to hear of Fran’s death. I have wonderful memories of her in Byron at our house having coffee with Mom. They were great friends, a friendship that lasted for almost fifty years. I will always remember her humour and her warmth. My thoughts are with you, Claudia
Lin and Peter,
I was so very sorry to see the obituary in the paper this morning for your Mom.
She was a wonderful lady and I enjoyed her time at Longworth very much.
Please accept my deepest sympathy.

What a nice picture of Fran. I had the pleasure of knowing Fran while she was living at Longworth Retirement Residence where I’m a server in the dining room. Fran was always a very nice Lady and sat with a nice group of friends. After she came back to us from the hospital, she tried so hard to let us know what she wanted to order for her meal. She had her little notepad with items she liked written down. Some days she would get frustrated with not being able to communicate as well as she used to be able to. At those times I’d just look Fran in the eyes and say”I don’t know about you, but I need a hug” She’d just shake her head up and down and we’d hug. It got to be our own little ritual. Even when she’d just be coming into the dining room I’d go up to her and say “I don’t know about you, but I need a hug!” She would always shake her head up and down and smile, and give me a nice big hug. It was a pleasure having known Fran. I miss her hugs and smiles.
Peter, Milly Ann & Family …

Reading of Fran’s death brought back so many memories of yesteryear when our boys, Peter and Chris, were playmates and friends. Fran was such a patient and caring person and always so good to Chris. Although our paths did not cross very often over the years we were always happy to see Fran and have a chat. That is only one example of the small things that result in positive and lasting memories of a person. Fran was a sweet woman, not judgemental, and very supportive. She was someone that could be counted on if needed. We are saddened for her family at the loss of their mother and grandmother.
With Sincere Sympathy from all of our family,
Judy Potter
