MALES: Constance “Connie”
Peacefully, with family at her side, on Monday, January 25, 2010, Connie Males in her 95th year. Devoted wife of the late Albert Frederick “Bert” Males (1949). Beloved mother of Heather and Doug Ellis of London, Dennis and Gail Males of St. Thomas and Lee and Debra Males of London. Cherished “Nan” to Michele, Scott, Melissa, Kerrie, Jason and Graham and eight great-grandchildren. “Con” will be sadly missed by her faithful and loving sister Evelyn Jenkins (Aunt Babe) and her nieces and nephews, Innis and Debbie Jenkins of Kempville, Susan and Jim Kelly, Cathy Jenkins, Mark and Grace Jenkins all of London. She was the daughter of the late Cuthbert and Florence (Wilson) Whitlock. Predeceased by by her brother Leslie “Tim” Whitlock (1944 – Operation Market Garden) and sister Margaret Lewis (1992). A life-long resident of West London, and widowed at age 34, she devoted her life to raising her children, and worked until retirement in the pharmacy at the Langford and Ruckle drug stores. She was an avid gardener and proudly displayed her green thumb at her Johnston Street home of 70 years. The family acknowledges and thanks the many staff at the Dearness Home who cared for her with tenderness and understanding. Friends will be received by the family from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. A private family service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, January 28th followed by interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London. In Lieu of flowers, the family is grateful for memorial donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 309 Commissioners Road West, London, ON N6J 1Y4 or the charity of your choice.
