WAKERELL, Ida Almedea …..
Surrounded by her family at Victoria Hospital, London, on Saturday, September 18, 2010, Ida Almedea (Steep) Wakerell of London in her 86th year. Loving wife of the late Fred Wakerell (1974). Cherished mother of Jan Malott and her husband Ken of London and Norman Wakerell and his wife Nadine of Windsor. Proud grandmother of Andy (Tracey), Rebecca, Roberto, William, Gabrielle, Maria and 2 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Evelyn Kempster and her husband Bert of Goderich. Also missed by her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and her late daughter-in-law Celia. Predeceased by her brother Benson Steep and by her sister Irene Bentley The family would like to thank the staff at Glendale Crossing and Victoria Hospital C5 300 and Emergency. Friends will be received by the family from 3-5 and 7-9pm on Monday, September 20, 2010, at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London, where the celebration of Ida’s life will be conducted in the chapel on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 1pm with Reverend Teresa Corrigan officiating. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Church of the Epiphany – Accessibility “Elevator” Fund, 19 Holborn Avenue, London, ON N6J 2P6. We are so saddened by Aunt Almedea’s Death. She will be greatly missed. Jan, Ken and family you are in our prayers and thoughts.
Seeing her picture reminds me so much of her sister,Irene my grandmother, and know they are both together now is a comfort.

I’m so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I remember her as having so much energy, and zest for such a tiny little thing. I don’t have one memory of her when she’s not laughig and joking. My mom, Barb Gilbert, adored her as a friend, and they kept that tie for years. She was a very, very special lady.
