IWANYK, Gertraud “Gertie”…..

Born August 21, 1926 in Germany, formerly of Harriston, Ontario. She slipped away in the early hours of June 13, 2013 to be reunited with her husband Michael. Loving mother of Helga Alcorn (Hans), Michael Iwanyk, Peter Iwanyk (Ginette) and Marion Iwanyk (Jane). Cherished grandmother of Kristine McCarty (Glenn), Cheri Schembri (Reno), Michael and Brendan Iwanyk and Michael Iwanyk Jr. Dear great-grandmother of Matthew and Tanner McCarty. Cremation has taken place. At the request of Gertie and family there will be no service. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank all the staff at the McCormick Home. Words cannot express our gratitude knowing she was in good hands.
