WILLITS, Phil “Willie”….
Peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, September 16, 2013, Phil “Willie” Willits of London and formerly of West Lorne, Ontario in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Verna (Bowie) Willits for 68 years. Loving father of Phil Willits and his wife Vicki of Kincardine and Perry Willits and his wife Iryna of London. Proud Pops of Phil Willits Jr. (Brenda) and Joel Willits, Jim Willits (Tracey) and John Willits and also loved by his great-grandson Wesley. Dear brother-in-law of Florence Kerr and Teen Bowie. Phil served in the Perth Regiment during WWII. He had a passion for sports, coaching hockey and baseball. Phil worked for many years at Ontario Hydro. Friends will be received by the family one hour prior (12-1pm) to the funeral service being conducted in the chapel of the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London, on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 1pm, with Reverend Dr. Anne Beattie-Stokes officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, West Lorne, on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 3pm. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 371 King Street, London ON N6B 1S4 or the Canadian Red Cross, 810 Commissioners East, London, ON N6C 2V5. We are so sorry for your loss. Phil was a most humble, friendly and helpful person we had the honour of knowing. To know him was to love him. He will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Verna, Phil and Perry, So sorry to hear about Willie’s passing. As a kid he included me in many of your family activities which included baseball, hockey and on one occasion squirrel hunting. He was a super good guy and we will remember him forever.
To the Willits Family, sorry for your loss Mr Willits was a great guy, I will always rtemember hiom teaching me how to throw a curve ball. He was very understanding and kind to all. Bill
