Dear Janet and Nancy:
I was saddened to read of your father’s death. I am so sorry. Doug was an esteemed colleague, one I have known since dental school days in Toronto, in the early 40s. Although he was two years ahead, I met him early on, largely because of my late classmate, John Reid, your Dad’s cousin.
Your Dad and your Mother made my late wife (also Jean) most welcome when we came to London in 1965 to found Western’s, then, Faculty of Dentistry. Doug was such a whole-hearted supporter. He was a highly regarded practitioner in London and a strong leadership force in the London & District Dental Society.
Please permit me to convey to you and to all other members of your families my most profound and heartfelt sympathy.
Sincerely,
Wes Dunn
Sincere condolences to Janet, Nancy and families. Your Dad was a true gentleman. It was a pleasure to have known both your mother and father.
Ariel
I am thinking of you all at this time. Doug and I had many wonderful times with Doug and Jean.
Janet, Keith, Nancy, Bruce and families,
Doug and I spent many hours working together on his computer. He was so appreciative of my help and I was equally proud of his computer knowledge. One occasion he invited my wife and I to join him for dinner at the golf club. He was kind, considerate and respected by his colleagues. I hadn’t heard from Doug for a while but I was diagnosed with a terminal lung disease (Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension) and have not been well myself for over a year. I always regarded it an honour to know Doug. May memories comfort you and may friends and family sustain you at this time.
Sincere regards,
Arnold Hull
