I was so sorry to read about Mrs. Snyder’s passing. I have many fond memories of my time at Eastmount Presbyterian Church with Mary Ellen and Mrs. Snyder. My mom passed away Dec. 2011 and I have been thinking back to the people who had an impact on her life and mine. This lady was a major one. My condolences to all her family.

It is with sincere sympathy that I express my condolences to the Snyder family. I met Elizabeth, her husband, Bob and their three children, Mary Ellen, Wayne and Bryan at Eastmount Presbyterian Church in Hamilton, Ontario. Elizabeth was my C.G.I.T. leader and that organization had such a positive influence on my life as a teenager. She was such a quiet and patient person who loved being with young people. I often was the baby-sitter for the Snyders, the Austens and the Rev. Wayne Smith so looking after 6 children at times was a challenge but also lots of fun. My memories of participating in Westwood Presbyterian Church will forever be treasured.
Elizabeth Snyder was one of the most influential women in my life. From age two she taught me patience, kindness, devotion, commitment, strength in times of adversary, the meaning of family , but most of all, and most important to me, her unwavering faith. Both Elizabeth and Robert Snyder were shining role models of their faith in God and role modeling it to others by their day to day living. I shall never forget this wonderful, strong, sensitive, woman and that I had the chance to write her and tell her so ,in my later years. I love you both and thank God you were a part of my life. My deepest heartfelt condolences go out to my dearest friend Mary Ellen, her brothers Bryan and Wayne, and to their dear families. Love, Linda Nickele(Goodwin)
Sorry to read of Elizabeth’s passing in the paper today. I have many good memories of Elizabeth and Bob during their time in Petrolia. We were members of the Presbyterian Young People’s society and St. Andrew’s Church. My sincere sympathy to the family.
