Obituary
PLAYFORD, Mary….
Mary (Elliott) Playford passed away peacefully, with her loving family at her side at Victoria Hospital, London, on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, on the eve of her 87th birthday. Beloved wife of Al Playford for 66 years. Loving mother and an inspiration for her children Steve Playford (Jackie), Anne Chandler (Rick) and Tom Playford (Terryl Lynne). Adored grandmother of Paul, James, Chris (Iva) and Mike and many nieces and nephews. Survived by sister Jean Wilkins (Don). Predeceased by parents Mary and James Elliott, her brother Lorne and sister Margaret. Her family was always front and centre and Mary so enjoyed the weekly dinners, the holidays, birthdays and special events and in particular, the summers with Al and the family at the cottage in Southampton. “Sunsets at the lake will never be the same”. In spite of some early challenges, Mary overcame all with a positive outlook, a commitment to her loved ones and a smile. She will be missed. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family from 7-9pm on Monday, September 22, 2014, at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. Private family interment in Owen Sound . As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Online condolences, memories and photographs shared at www.amgfh.com
