MCINROY, Mary Margaret
Passed away peacefully at Westmount Gardens Long Term Care, London on January 1, 2015, in her 91st year. Mary will be fondly remembered by her nephew Ian McInroy, his wife Brenda, their daughter Bailey and son Connor, all from Thornton, ON, for her love of life, music, traveling and all God’s creatures. Mary will be sadly missed by her companion Charles Carmichael. Mary was proud of her career in nursing, graduating from the Toronto General Hospital School for Nurses in 1946 and later getting a degree in nursing education from the University of Western Ontario. She was a nurse for more than 30 years and brought laughter, knowledge and friendship to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Mary was predeceased by her much-loved brother Alexander McInroy (August 2005) and his wife Jean (October 2010) of Barrie, ON. Friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the 1 p.m. memorial service on Monday, January 12, 2015, A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of London & Middlesex, 435 Windermere Road, London, ON, N5X 2T1. I have known Mary for a long time and Mary was involved in the TGH Alumnae lunches here in London. I am also a TGH grad and will miss her at our get togethers. Thinking of her family at this t9ime.
I have many fond memories and respect for Mary during our teaching days and our year at Western. She was dedicated and a great example to us all. Very sorry I cannot attend the funeral. Anne
Sincere sympathy to the family of Mary M. McInroy. We will miss her presence at Byron United Church.
Mary and I had several good talks about God and the love He has shown us by coming down in the form of Christ the Babe who grew up to feel and go through what we do. Then He took our sins, sickness, death and shame away to one day give us life eternal in our heavenly mansion. I do believe that Mary found Jesus be her friend and brother! See you later, Mary! Thanks for your kindness to me.
