THORNTON, G. Wilson…..
Peacefully at Parkwood Veterans Hospital, London on Saturday, May 21, 2016, G. Wilson Thornton passed away in his 98th year. Beloved husband of the late Doris “Dorie” E. (Ward) Thornton (2001). Proud father of William “Bill” Ward Thornton and his wife Irene. Dear brother of Orwell Thornton and his wife Marion and Helen Smith. Cherished by his granddaughters Mary Vernackt and her husband Chris, Lana Thornton and her husband Greg Petten and his great-granddaughters Sarah Abbott and Anita Vernackt. Also loved by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Doris Hopper. Friends are invited to a Celebration of Wilson’s Life on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm at the Reception Centre of the A. Millard George Funeral Home on the south east corner of the parking lot, 60 Ridout Street South, London. Private interment at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Health Care – Veterans Care 550 Wellington Road London, Ontario N6C 0A7 or The Victory Legion Branch #317, 311 Oakland Avenue London, Ontario N5W 4J5.
