Obituary
WARNER, Norman….
It is with profound sadness that the family of Norman McAmmond Warner announce his passing, in his 93rd year, on Saturday evening, March 4th, 2017. Norm was the deeply cherished husband of Mary for 65 years. He will be sadly missed by his children Marian Kirby, Margot Warner-Knowles and Mark Warner (Marnee). As well he was the proud grandfather of Bjorn Kirby and Ted Warner-Knowles. Survived by his brother-in-law George Engelking and several generations of nieces and nephews, who all had a very special place in his heart. Predeceased by three sisters, Mary, Eleanor, Edith and brother Robert. In 1944 Norm left high school to join the Armed Services where he received his wings as a paratrooper. The war ended and he enrolled at the University of Toronto, graduating as a Civil Engineer. He enjoyed his profession and the many challenges it presented. After retirement, he continued his volunteer work, became an accomplished wood carver, enjoyed golfing at Sunningdale and bridge games with friends. Norm liked nothing more than spending time at the family cottage on the beautiful Bruce Peninsula. Church was an important part of Norm’s life and for the last 13 years he sang in his church choir, continuing until just one week ago. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family on Saturday, March 25th, 2017 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Riverside United Church, 695 Riverside Drive, London, ON N6H 2S3, where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to Juvenile Diabetes Research London, 309 Commissioners Road West, London, ON N6J 1Y4, Riverside United Church or a charity of your choice are appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to A. Millard George Funeral Home, 519-433-5184. Online condolences, memories and photographs shared at www.amgfh.com
