NEWTON-DeBLOCK, Mabel “Mae”….
Peacefully with her family by her side at Victoria Hospital, London on Friday, December 6, 2019, Mabel Newton-DeBlock passed away in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Frank DeBlock (1996) and the late Ronald Joyes Newton (1980). Loving mother of Alf James Newton (Lana) and the late Ronald William Newton (2003) and mother-in-law of Heather Newton. Cherished grandmother of Michael Newton, Lori Sokalski (Mark), Carrie Bonelli (John), Melissa Duda (Rob), Joey Newton and Bobby Newton (Sandra) and great-grandmother of Taylor, Natalie, Cassie, Brianna, Ava, William, Walter, Rylee and Elizabeth. Predeceased by her sisters Ethel Pringle and Elsie Bailey. She will also be missed by her nieces, nephews and extended family. Mabel was an avid sports fan. She was the #1 London Knights supporter, loved her Blue Jays and Maple Leafs and was very active in her grandchildren’s lives, watching them play their countless sports. A social and active woman, she was very competitive when it came to her card games, especially Euchre which she would play multiple times a week. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 11 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment in Pond Mills Cemetery, London. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mabel’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario, 180-633 Colborne Street, London, ON N6B 2V3.
