Condolences to the family. Back in the 40’s and 50’s our family were students at Lady Beck. Taught by both Alex and Ruth (Brown). History brings a smile in these times of a budding romance. Awesome family!

Miss. Brown [my grade 1 teacher] married Mr. McColl [grade 5] – teachers at Lady Beck Public School. I always thought that was special. I noticed an announcement for their 50th Anniversary years ago in Glencoe -so I drove there to surprise them and it was a lovely visit. After that Mr. McColl passed away but I was able to telephone Mrs. McColl and we had a lovely visit. If I am able to submit a photo at that anniversary, I will do that. My sincere condolences to family and friends as both are in my memories with love.
Dear Marion, Alan, Amy, Scott and Rebecca

To the McColl family, I just listened and watched your Mother’s funeral service. It was so appropriate, such a tribute to a wonderful woman. The McColl family and mine go back so many precious years, each with a memory or a contact with one or more of you.
Each of you spoke so well at the service. I loved Marion’s response regarding Ruth’s wondering which of the brothers might have been the guilty one. Perhaps since Duncan was named first was a clue!
I send my love and sympathy to each of you. You have loved and cared for your Mom faithfully since Alex died. It is so difficult to lose your Mother, no one can take her place. Stay strong, stay healthy and continue to support each other. With my love and prayers, Lynda

To all of the McColl family, Your mother was a kind and caring lady who will be greatly missed. A number of years ago, I had the privilege of working in your parents’ home regularly. I enjoyed it because of the little visits it afforded me with one or the other, or sometimes both of them together. At those times I often smiled at the humour, tempered with love, with which they occasionally teased one another. There’s was a marriage built on faith , hope and love, and it was, I am sure, a shining beacon to many. I still remember the photos of all of you, on top of the TV. The love with which your mother and grandma spoke of you all, and the pride she had in her grandchildrens’ achievements was a joy to behold. You were truly blessed.
Dave, Jane, Eliza, and Grace,
