Obituary
MORRISON, Margaret….
Peacefully at Dearness Nursing Home, London on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, Margaret (Cowie) Morrison in her 99th year, went to be with her Lord. Beloved wife of the late E. George Morrison (2001). Cherished Nanny of Janine Aquilina (Sean), Jeffery Smith (Lindsey) and Bradley Smith (Carolina). Dear sons-in-law Victor Smith and Ron Kinna. Predeceased by her daughters Maureen Smith and Janet Kinna and by her sister Janet Hicks. Margaret ends her earthly journey with us, but begins her eternal journey in heaven. God has opened his loving arms to Margaret and reunited her with her beloved husband George, her two daughters Maureen and Janet. We are filled with deep comfort knowing our Nanny is now at peace. Our grandmother’s main mission was to live a happy life with her family, and she did just that until her last breath. She was our rock, true salt of the earth. The family would like to thank the staff at the Dearness Home (4 West) for the care provided to Margaret. Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to watch the funeral service live from the comfort of their homes, by visiting the AMG Funeral Home YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpfL6_cm3hysYQm6qoamdgQ?app=desktop or our website and clicking on the YouTube logo. Marg and my mom Lorna were long time friends, neighbours , when I dropped in to see her, she shared so much faith .. so much loss in her life, she said there must be a reason she was still around , your beautiful pictures of family and love are a tribute to that belief
Beautiful family on earth, as she joins others she missed so much in heaven
Kathy
Nanny Morrison had such an impact on all of you. She helped mold you into the exceptional people you are today. You are her memorial! We will always cherish the memories of the time we spent with her. Take solace that she lived her life fully and is at peace now. We love you.
We are so sorry to hear of your nanny’s passing. She was such a beautiful woman and we have some lovely memories of her.
Sending our love and prayers to you all!
My thoughts are with the family. Mrs Morrison was a great friend to my mother Lorna Flanagan with whom she would talk on the phone for hours. I was so pleased to read that she found peace and joy in her later years.
Dear family. I first met your grandmother at your Aunt Janet’s bridal shower held by your mother Maureen. My husband and I attended Janet’s wedding in 1988. Janet and I knew each other from when she worked in the Computer Science Lab. Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to really get to know your grandmother but her photo captures how I remember her. I was shocked to read that both Janet and your mother had passed. We lost touch but I did not forget them.
Allow me to express my deepest condolences for your grandparents, your mother and your aunt.
Dear Janine, Jeffery, Bradley and family, Our deepest condolences to you and your family whom Margaret absolutely loved and adored. It was a real honour to share time with Margaret. She was an inspiration of positivity and faith. She so very well modelled courage, perseverance, kindness, love, compassion and of course the value of just being sensible, and was a true blessing to her family and friends. Margaret deemed that most problems or challenges could be discussed and solved over a perfect cup of tea and toast, or one of her many home-made goodies, along with prayer! We enjoyed many concert outings, picnics, lunch dates, plays, visits, and little drives just to see some new projects or scenery. Her journey with joys, and sorrow, has left a trail bright with hope. Hang onto your comforting memories of Margaret. We wish you all the best. With love,
Bob and Mary Marriott.
I met Margaret when I joined the Calvary Book Club. I valued her compassion when my mom died, and was impressed by her unwavering faith. It’s comforting to know that she is now in God’s everlasting care, reunited with her dear husband and daughters.
I have known your nanny ,Margaret for many years thru Calvary and our book club. She loved you all so much and always spoke about her grandkids and how they lit up her life. We had many. visits over the years at her house and later Dearness Such a strong woman of faith and character, take solace that she is with your grandpa and her beloved daughters
Heaven smells especially sweet with all her baked goodies now … we will miss you Margaret. Rest In Peace , my friend
