Obituary
MITCHELL, Rose….
With her husband at her side on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, after a courageous and valiant two year battle with ovarian cancer, Rose (Westhaver) Mitchell in her 65th year, has been reunited with her Mother and Father in heaven. Rose was a cherished and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a lover of music and a talented pianist who graduated from the University of Western Ontario Music Program. Rose was a dedicated member of the Hyde Park United Church Choir for over 25 years and a Walmart employee for over 30 years. She spent her summers at the Pinery, and was a lover of nature and animals.
Rose leaves behind her dedicated and loving husband of 45 years, David Mitchell and three adoring daughters, Lisa (Craig), Sarah (Justin) and Laura (Mark). Her three grandchildren, Evelyn, Joe and Danielle will miss her terribly. She is also survived by her brother Spurgeon, and sisters Faith (Dwaine), Carol (Zoran) and Grace (Rick) and too many nieces and nephews to name, including four great nephews. She is predeceased by her father Reverend Clyde G. Westhaver (2019) and her mother, Evelyn Westhaver (1980).
Her genuine kindness and unselfishness will be remembered by all those who knew her. Christmas will never be the same, she always hosted and gave so much of her time and love. She will be remembered for her fortitude and courage that she showed during the most challenging times and we will never forget her love and goodness.
Family and friends are welcomed for visiting on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 5-7 pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. At the family’s request those who are attending are required to be double vaccinated and are required to wear masks. Proof of vaccination and photo identification will be required. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11 am at Woodland Cemetery, 493 Springbank Drive, London (please meet at the cemetery office). I am so very sorry for the loss of your grandma and mother. I had the pleasure of meeting Rose when I worked at Walmart. She was such a wonderful kind woman, and I’m glad I got to meet your grandma Ev. I am glad she is no longer in pain and I know she will be forever missed and cherished by all of you.
I am sorry for your loss, Sarah!

Dear Sister Rose

nature and gentle spirit.
To the Mitchell Family, our deepest sympathies. The few times I met Rose I could tell she was a lovely person. And from the stories I have heard from Laura she was also a fantastic and caring mother. I am sorry for your loss, may her light shine brighter in heaven.
Dear Laura, Dave, and family,
I’m sorry I can’t pay my respects in person, but I will be out of town as of Friday.
I just wanted to express my deepest sympathies for the loss of your beautiful mother and wife.
She certainly fought a courageous fight with grace, love and dignity. You must be so proud of her.
Her loss is tremendous. I hope you will find comfort in the fact that her spirit will live on in all of you who loved her. She will be there in your hearts – forever.
For as long as I can remember, I admired Aunt Rose’s kind and generous spirit. She was one of the most selfless people many of us will ever know. We are so sad to lose her, but find peace in knowing that her suffering has ended.
Dear Mitchell Family, I am so sad that Rose has passed away.I sang with Rose in the Hyde Park United Church Choir.Rose was always calm, kind and sweet. Rev. Clyde and I shared Nova Scotia heritage so I always felt close to Rose. Years have passed, Hyde Park United Church has closed and I moved to Bayfield. Memories of Rose and her lovely spirit will remain with me forever. I am sorry that Rose has suffered from this horrible disease.I send love to all those who love Rose.Blessings,Dawn
