Obituary
PINCHES, Thomas S…
On his 92nd birthday he left us to be with his wife Joyce.
Peacefully, at University Hospital, London, Thomas “Tom” S. Pinches passed away on April 11, 2022. Tom was predeceased by his best friend and loving wife Joyce in 2021. They shared a deep and nourishing bond of love during their 64 years together. He is survived by his son Brian (Teresa) and his grandsons Wesley and Austin.
Tom was born and raised in ‘Old South’ London and lived most of his life there. He was the youngest of seven siblings. He was a woodworker and wood turner. He was also one of the longest serving members of the London ‘O Gauge’ model railroad club. When he wasn’t in the workshop, he would be square dancing with Joyce or at the church helping out. Tom will be remembered as someone who was willing to lend a helping hand. He put others before himself.
We’re grateful to Iesha and the entire staff at Grand Wood Park retirement home. We also extend our gratitude to the palliative care team at the University Hospital. The care Tom received and the compassion his family received in a difficult time will never be forgotten. A special thank you to his family physician and team: Dr. A. Mawji, Barb, and Amanda.
A graveside service will take place on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 10:45 am at Woodland Cemetery, London. If you would like to attend, we ask that you meet at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, before 10:30 am to join the funeral procession to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations to Elmwood Avenue Presbyterian Church, 111 Elmwood Avenue East, London, ON N6C 1J4 or the Canadian Cancer Society, PO Box 640, STN K, Toronto, ON M4P 9Z9. Arrangements entrusted with A. Millard George Funeral Home, 519-433-5184. Online condolences, memories and photographs shared at www.amgfh.com
