Dear Family, My mother Gailya (Campbell) Maguire and I were so sorry to hear of our cousin’s passing. Lloyd was such a nice man, friendly and hospitable with a great sense of humour. We always enjoyed catching up when ever we were together at the family picnic. Our sincerest sympathies to all of Lloyd’s family.
Shirley and Family,
We are saddened to hear about Lloyd’s passing. We always enjoyed our visits with you folks here in the neighbourhood and will miss those happy times.
To all of Mr. Courtney’s family I extend my condolences. A man well remembered from times at the hockey arenas, days at the cottage in Point Clark, the pipe tobacco aroma and the old station wagons. How could a young guy not admire a man in the confectionary business. A true gentleman, proud to have known him as family friend. Bill
My husband was Rod MacDonald. His parents were Len & Din MacDonald. Many stories of the Courtney’s revolved around the cottage along with some great tales about John D MacKay. Lloyd was always mentioned with much respect, and it never failed that when driving down Colonel Talbot, the Courtney home was pointed out. My sincere condolences to all.
Dear Shirley and family:
So sorry to hear of Lloyd’s passing. He will be fondly remembered by us as a great neighbour and fun beer drinking buddy. We will miss him terribly.
Dear Shirley & Family:
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
Over the years my associations with Lloyd were always special.
Blessings.
Irene Liddle

Lloyd holds a very special place in our families hearts. So many memories of great times at Courtney’s cottage, waterskiing, summer holidays with Carol in London and drop in visits over the years! Lloyd always had a twinkle in his eye and a great smile and laugh. So many kids enjoyed weekends of waterskiing and boat rides that Lloyd graciously shared. Thank you for being part of my life! You built a legacy to be proud of!
Our deepest condolences to Shirley and all the family. You will always be remembered.
Well remember standing with Lloyd and Shirley at chilly temperature hockey arenas as we watched their son, Michael and my son , Jim Wernham. play hockey.

I have many fond memories growing up of Uncle Lloyd. Enjoying riding in his convertible many boat rides and just enjoying spending time at the cottage. I was Haddie to him and loved his nick names. The fireworks May 24 were a highlight for me for many years and now I see what an important time it was to get together and keep in touch with cousins and other relatives. Rest in Peace.

Belated condolences. I first met Lloyd shortly after I joined Mars Canada as a sales representative back in 1977.
My memory of Lloyd is that he was the ultimate gentleman, very kind with an excellent sense of humour. We always had a good laugh. It was always a pleasure to call on Courtney’s Confectionery. He was also helpful as a mentor learning the business.
