BOUK, Vera “Dolly”…
Vera “Dolly” Bouk (née Welch) passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24th, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. She lived 102 remarkable years filled with love, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to the people and communities she cared for.
Dolly was the devoted wife of John “Jack” Bouk, with whom she shared over 76 years of partnership – a bond defined by loyalty and enduring affection.
She was the beloved mother of Linda Bolton (Russell), David Bouk (Evelyn), and Lisa Gorham (Gary). Dolly also opened her heart and home to many adopted children who cherished her as a mother figure. She was the proud Nana of seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy. She was the true matriarch of her family – a steady, loving presence whose guidance and strength shaped generations.
Dolly will be overjoyed to reunite with her sweetheart Jack, her son David, her parents, and her brother Charlie and sister Marjorie.
She spent most of her life in London, ON, where she built a warm and welcoming home that became a gathering place for family, friends, neighbours, and anyone who needed a seat at the table. For over 35 years, she and Jack wintered in Port Isabel, Texas, a place she loved for its sunshine, community, and the extended family they built there.
Dolly loved fiercely and poured her energy into the things that made life beautiful – the Bouk farm and all of their many animals, hosting gatherings, cooking, good cocktails, music and dancing, teaching, fashion and modelling, travel, and significant charity work both locally and abroad. She had a gift for creating warmth wherever she went, and her home was always a place of welcome, laughter, and good food.
Hard working, intelligent, thoughtful, outgoing, and wonderfully funny, Dolly had a rare ability to make everyone feel special. She lived with intention and heart, and her generosity touched countless lives. Her legacy will continue to shine through the many people she positively influenced.
Dolly will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of her life will be shared at a later date.
In memory of Dolly, donations may be made to Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre, P.O. Box 601 Mount Brydges, ON N0L 1W0.

Sorry to hear of Dolly’s passing. She certainly lived a long full life
She will be dearly missed by a large extended family.
Our family spent countless hours at your beautiful farm exploring the many wonders of nature. Your Mom was so welcoming and loving. She became a very close friend of our Mom, Sue Adams. The two of them would laugh and carry on together. Your Dad would sit and smile with a twinkle in his eyes. Great memories and thank you. Cindy (Adams) McPherson.
We are sending our heartfelt condolences for the loss of Dolly. What a beautiful life she lived and what a remarkable life she lived. She was such a special person.
Sorry to hear of Dolly’s passing. Her and Jack were good friends of Mom and Dad’s for many years. As kids we enjoyed swim parties, dinners and entertainment at the farm. My sisters and I were able to enjoy lunch and visits with her in recent years. Once you met Dolly, you never forgot Dolly. My the years of memories, bring you comfort in the coming days.
Sarah and family,
I was so sorry to hear of Dolly’s passing. Reading her obituary, it is clear she was a truly remarkable woman whose warmth, generosity, and love touched many lives.
Although I never had the chance to meet her, the beautiful tribute to her life paints the picture of someone very special. My sincere condolences to your family as you celebrate a life so well lived.
