Obituary

MORRIS, Joyce Marie

Peacefully, with her family by her side, on April 20, 2026 at Highview Residences in London, Ontario in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of The Reverend Alex Morris for 66 years. Loving mother of Susan Sterner (Brent) and the late David Morris. Proud grandmother of Matthew Sterner and Nicholas Sterner (Geraldine Kocher), and dear friend to many.

Friends are welcome to attend a Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving at St. Aidan’s Anglican Church, 1246 Oxford Street West, London, Ontario, on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. In keeping with Joyce’s vibrant spirit and love of life, those attending are kindly asked to celebrate her memory by wearing bright, cheerful colours.

Interment will be on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 2:00pm in Farringdon Burial Ground, 287 Mount Pleasant Street, Brantford, Ontario. Friends are welcome.

In Joyce’s memory and in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society or the McCormick Care Foundation.

    I taught with Joyce at Cedarland School. She was an excellent, caring teacher and I learned a great deal from her. Although I haven’t seen Joyce in years, I wanted the family to know that I was thinking of them.

    Joyce was a wonderful member of the Grand River Chorus for many years. She had a lovely alto voice and we do miss her. Alex and Joyce were very gracious hosts to us in 2015 when they showed us their favourite spots of Newfoundland when we stayed with them for a week.
