Obituary
Daniel Ross Hammond
September 14, 1949-September 2025
Daniel Ross Hammond, 76, of London, Ontario, passed away in September 2025.
Born in Bracebridge, Ontario, on September 14, 1949, Dan led a life marked by creativity, faith and love. He worked for many years as an urban planner with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs in both Sudbury and London, Ontario.
Dan had a love of beauty and detail—evident in his passion for music, history, home renovation, and spirituality.
He was brilliant, loving, and inspired by his Christian faith. He was also complex, and at times troubled — qualities that made him deeply human. Those who knew him well remember his sharp wit, his generous heart, and his ability to light up a room with his humour.
Dan is survived by his children, Bronwyn (David) and Adam (Marta), and grandchildren: Adeline, Ronan, India, and Gordon. He will also be missed by his sister Kathy (Ludwig), his brother Bill (Ruth), his many nieces and nephews, as well as his former wife Jill Daw. He was predeceased by his parents, Ella and Tom Hammond, and his brothers, Steven and Kim (Susan).
Arrangements entrusted to A. Millard George Funeral Home, 519-433-5184. Online condolences, memories and photographs shared at www.amgfh.com

Dear Kathy and family
Danny was a wonderful friend. Through high school and university, he illuminated our times with a spirit of compassion and generosity. His sense of humour lightened our way. He will always be remembered very fondly.
Dan. Someone who always welcomed me as a guest into his home whether on Garfield or Wortley, and included me in social outings with Jill. My recent memories of him are his connection with the people and shops in Wortley Village, a place he found belonging and contentment. May this gentle and complex soul find peace in God’s everlasting care.
To Danny’s family: We were friends all through high school and I dearly hoped that he would be able to attend last year’s reunion. I have such fond memories of his great sense of humour and kind personality.
Dear Adam Bronwyn and family. I was sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. He used to call me frequently to chat, and I thought a lot of him. You have my love and sympathy, love Barbara.
Dan was a lovely human being who believed in the power of love.He will be missed from our Wednesday church service at St .James.
I was so saddenned by the passing of our House Church friend Dan. I will remember him mostly for his kind heart and his concern for the marginalized people in our community. He was truly a loving and gentle soul, and I will miss him very much.
To All of Dan’s Family, I’m sending my love and condolences. I knew Dan as we were both members of House Church, which I started to attend in 2019. Dan’s faith was so important to him and a source of great solace and comfort. I always thought he was so wise with what he shared during our church gatherings, but he never took himself too seriously. There was always a twinkle in his eyes and a smile on his face when we were together. The fact that his email address included ‘getalife’ always made me smile. Due to his life experiences, he was so full of sympathy for those who were ‘down and out’ and always had the time to chat with folks in dire straits. I was so sad to hear of his passing. I will miss him, but I know he’s now at peace with the Lord by his side.
To All of Dan’s family. We at House Church where saddened by the sudden loss of our friend, Dan. He was a special friend and shared his faith and special insights just by being Dan….
Dan became a friend to my grandchildren and great grandchildren through his regular visits to Covent Garden market,
and often brought me up to date after he had seen them.
We will all miss Dan’s openness and his hugs!
Rest in peace, my dear friend Dan,.
I am heartbroken at loosing Dan so unexpectedly. Dan and I always shared a special bond as part of our House Church family over several years. During the covid time, we connected by phone every day; I thought of him as a brother. I am grateful that I we enjoyed having lunch together on his last birthday. House Church members gathered on November 1, All Saints Day to especially remember and honour Dan and our beloved priest Sylvia. So grateful to have had such dear friends. He often spoke of his family and his love for you all.
Heartfelt Condolences
