Hi Patsy and Tom.
My condolences to you and your families.
Andrew
Sincere condolences to all of Dr. Hinton’s loved ones. In 1987 my firstborn son had multiple medical issues and Dr. Hinton helped us immensely. He was up front and honest in a gentle manner when delivering serious news in regard to our son’s condition. Over Christmas holidays when we were experiencing severe seizures with our child he gave me his home phone number to reach him. ( this would never happen today) I indeed ended up having to phone him. I have never forgotten him or his devoted care. I am happy to learn he had such a long life. Please know his memory lives on with many whom he helped.

Dear Patsy and Tom,
What an extraordinary person your Father was: gentle, kind, brilliant, loyal, determined and always interesting. A great life indeed, a beautiful legacy in you two. We have so many memories of our parents together over so very many years; we hope you do, too, and that those memories are a blessing now ♥️.
Fondly,

I am saddened by the passing of Dr. George Hinton, a remarkable physician, teacher, and colleague whose contributions to Pediatric Neurology at Western University and Children’s Hospital spanned over three decades. For thirty years, he served as the sole pediatric neurologist in Southwestern Ontario, providing compassionate, patient-centered care to countless families. He was known for his extraordinary accessibility—famously giving his home phone number to every patient’s family—an enduring example of his commitment to those he served.
Even after his retirement, George remained a steadfast presence at our epilepsy rounds at University Hospital. His wealth of experience enriched our discussions and inspired generations of learners.
George will be remembered not only for his pioneering role in establishing pediatric neurology in our region, but also for his kindness, humility, and devotion to his patients and colleagues. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, the physicians he mentored, and the high standard of care he helped to build.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered with respect and gratitude.

I was very sad to hear of Dr. Hinton’s passing today. He lived a long and productive life that influenced countless patients, families, caregivers, health professionals and learners in ways that went well beyond the typical patient assessment. He embodied a holistic and empathetic approach with every patient and family in every encounter. He will be dearly missed.
Dr. Hinton was a consummate clinician whose approach to complex patients and families I have never forgotten. I spent the summer (after my first year of medical school) teaching swimming each morning and spending the afternoon in neurology clinic at War Memorial Children’s Hospital. He was a quietly dedicated and influential mentor. I recall those days (now more than 40 years ago) with distinct clarity and warmth in my heart.
Please extend my sincere condolences to the family.
My sincere condolences to the Hinton Family at the passing of your dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather. I was so fortunate to have worked with Dr. Hinton in 1994-1999 as a medical student and paediatric resident. He taught me how to examine “the floppy infant”, even handed me his old textbooks for future reference. He was a genuine, kind, funny, thoughtful teacher and mentor. I will remember your father fondly and with gratitude, Michelle Ponti
My deepest condolences to the Hinton family. George was a teacher friend and colleague who I first met while a medical student. We kept in touch over the years although less so as time passed. I always enjoyed the time spent with him and Pat, they were such a lovely couple. So thankful for his kindness and support as I started my medical education.
