Obituary
DONNELLY, Winifred “Margaret”
Peacefully on Monday, December 4, 2023, at her residence, Margaret passed away in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Brian Donnelly. Cherished mother of Stephen (Dale) Donnelly, Leslie (Ray) Morgan, Frances Cutt (Jeff Petley) and David Donnelly. Loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Elizabeth Flinn and cousin of Angela Brunner. Margaret will be missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, love, and cherished memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Whether she was meticulously knitting beautiful garments, tending to her vibrant garden, or immersed in various crafts, her artistic spirit brought joy to everyone who witnessed her handiwork. Margaret and Brian were passionate members of the 71 Masters Masonic Group. Margaret was a devoted, lifelong member of St. Michael and All Angels Church. Margaret enjoyed The Horton Street Seniors Centre and the day out program along with all the dear friendships she made. Above all, Margaret was a loving matriarch who treasured her role as a mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and her love for them knew no bounds. Family gatherings were occasions she held dear, where laughter, love, and shared stories created a tapestry of cherished moments that will be forever cherished. Family and friends are welcomed for visitation at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 3:00 – 6:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at St. Michael and All Angels Church, 397 Springbank Drive, London on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 11:00 am with visitation an hour prior. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the Food Security Program at St. Michael and All Angels Church. My dear Donnelly cousins, I wish to send my condolences and prayers. I have very many fond memories of Aunt Margaret and all my visits to Canada to see her and our Grandparents. Seawood Ave pool and play. I am very sorry for your loss. Live you all.
Our condolences to your whole family in the passing of your mom….we never met your mom but always heard you speak very highly of her…our thoughts are with you and yours at this time.
Our deepest sympathies. Neil and family
My sincere sympathy to Margaret’s family in her passing. Margaret and I attended the same Adult Confirmation Class at St. Michael & All Angels church in the early 1960’s, so our relationship goes back a long way. We worked together in the Sunday School Nursery when our own children were that age. Margaret worked diligently throughout the year creating beautiful Christmas Tree decorations for our annual bazaar at the church. Also she helped prepare food for the Food Fare sales. We attended a weekly Bible Study group together. Margaret was soft-spoken, but was not afraid to speak her opinion when needed. I admired her determination to keep on doing what she could, inspite of her severe back pain. She had a loving family, who by caring for her, allowed her to remain in her comfortable apartment until the end. Margaret’s presence will be missed by her many friends.
