Obituary
MURDOCH, Norma Lynn…
May 25, 1952 – November 3, 2023
It is with broken hearts the family of Norma Lynn Murdoch share with you that after a three year battle with cancer she has crossed peacefully over the Rainbow Bridge surrounded by close friends and family. Gert (as we fondly called her) had a long successful career at RBC which allowed her to live in multiple places including Vancouver, Oakville, London and Trinidad. She loved every moment of it and made some special friends along the way and always treasured those relationships. She had two great passions, one of course was to travel the world. Places like South Africa, Scotland, China, Hawaii and of course the Caribbean. She loved to travel and certainly lived life to the fullest. Her second passion was her love of animals – especially those in need of rescuing. She volunteered for a rescue in London and was always driving somewhere when an animal needed to be transported to a safe place. For years she sponsored an elephant (Olorien) in Kenya. She had many cats and dogs over the years, but the true love of her life was her mischievous dog she rescued, Luka. We are certain she is busy gathering up all her animals who are waiting for her at the bridge so she can lead them across. She will be dearly missed by her sister Dell Walker (Wayne), nephew Michael Walker, niece Michelle Van Osch (Brendon), and grand-nephews Macsen, Coleson and Logan. She will also be missed by her Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and her childhood friends “The Park Girls”, Darlene, Jackie and Verna. A big thankyou to her Special Chat Group, Darlene, Linda, Laura and Lindsay who have been there for her throughout her final journey. Predeceased by her parents John F. Murdoch and Norma A. Murdoch. Special thanks to Dr. K. Hahn and her team at the LRCP as well as Dr. K. Onunkwo.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral or visitation. Donations to All Breed Canine Rescue (ABCR), 229 Sunset Drive, St. Thomas, ON N5R 3C2, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust USA (SWT), 101-25283 Cabot Road, Laguna Hills, CA 92653 or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
We love you, we miss you, you will always be in our hearts.

Norma was a part of our RBC retirement group here in London we loved hearing about her many trips & experiences. RIP peace sweet lady
I will always treasure the great time we all had at my mom’s (Auntie Jean) 90th birthday celebration which Norma Lynn kindly attended along with her trusty side kick Luka. It was a day filled with laughter and love and that is how I will remember Norma Lynn. We send love and condolences to Dell and family.
I am so very, very sorry to hear about Norma. She was a special person who was loved and respected by so many at RBC. Many times through our careers, our paths crossed and we always found time to enjoy each other, sometimes over coffee, sometimes over lunch. Lots of laughs and lots of sincere conversations shared between us. My sincere condolences to all of Norma’s family and loved ones.
Sincere condolences to Norma’s family. Norma was one of a kind, a big personality with an equally big heart. A wonderful team player, who could always be relied on to come through! RIP Norma.
I am so shocked and saddened to hear of Norma’s passing. She was the last manager I had at RBC when I retired after 35 years in 2005.She had so much energy and personality and always made me feel valued as her team member. May she rest in peace.
Great memories of Norma working in London. Lots of travel stories. RIP Norma
Such a wonderful, passionate human being. I was blessed to have crossed paths with you. Rest in Peace friend.
I have such fond memories of you Norma. You livened up the atmosphere whenever you entered the room! We shared a lot of wonderful experiences – both as a fellow RBC colleague and as a friend. May your amazing soul rest in peace. You will be missed.
Norma was my boss back in the 80’s at the Granville and Robson branch. I was a teller in business banking. She was a hoot to work with, loved her dearly. She always comes to mind when riminising about the good ol’ days. Rest in peace dear lady xoxoxoxo
I first met Norma when she started at RBC. I didn’t know her well because we worked indifferent departments.
When she moved back to London she was my reporting manager for a relief assignment. Norma you were always able to see the strengths in people and always there to help when there were hurtles.
I’m happy to have had the opportunity to know and work with you.
Forever remembered, rest in peace Norma.

I was so sorry to hear the news of Norma’s passing. She was my manager at RBC for many years – huge personality and even bigger heart. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.
I was very sorry to hear of Norma’s passing. I knew Norma for many years at RBC and enjoyed working with her. She was someone who could always be counted on – someone who gave 110% to whatever she took on….someone who made a difference for many – a great colleague and wonderful person. Sincerest condolences to Norma’s family and friends!
Norma Lynn was a tour de force, her presence filled the room, she swept us up in her excitement, dared us to follow her and she led us into temptation. She exhausted us with her determination, her enthusiasm, and sometimes she scared the bejesus out of me.
This is the Norma Lynn who I knew. This is the Norma Lynn I love. Dear Dell, I will miss her so dearly.
My sincere condolences to Norma’s family. I have known Norma for many years during her RBC career that took her to a variety of places doing many different jobs. Norma was a dedicated, loyal, hard working employee who also knew how to make people smile. You will be missed Norma Murdoch. It was a pleasure to get to know you and work with you. Rest in peace Norma.
Gertie, what words can possibly describe 58 years of friendship with you???. We are old souls who loved antiques, music, dancing, paintings, poetry, fantasy novels and soul’s spirits who you could actually feel yourself. I know you dimmed the lights when we Yayas toasted you with a tot of rum??! Until we meet again Gert I will remember you with a poem we loved.
All to myself I think of you,
Think of the things we used to do,
Think of the things we used to say,
Think of each happy, bygone day,
Sometimes I sigh and sometimes I smile,
But I keep each olden, golden while
All to myself.
