Obituary
RUEDI, Lois Anne
Peacefully on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Parkwood Institute, London, Lois passed away in her 76th year. Long time companion of Beat ‘Max’. Beloved mother of Ursula (Ian Carroll), Monika (Scott Foulser) and Heidi ‘Sean’. Proud grandmother of Lilley ‘Leo’ Johnston. Dear sister of the late Bill (Jeane) and David May. Predeceased by her nephew Nicholas May. Lois will be remembered by her extended family in Appin, Ontario. Lois worked for 18 years at the Region of Waterloo Library as a Library Cataloguer where she was a respected and loved part of the team. She will be greatly missed by her colleagues. Our Mom was a wee little lady with a big personality. She was absolutely hilarious, and had a dry wit. We always admired her strength and resilience, especially during her long battle with ovarian cancer. She was dedicated to her family and her children providing endless love and support. There are so many things we will miss about her, but we will always hold close to our hearts the amazing memories we shared as a family. A special thank you to the palliative care team at Parkwood for supporting and caring for Lois and her family. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Lois’ wishes a private family service will be held. As an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lois may be made to Ovarian Cancer Canada. Arrangements entrusted A. Millard George Funeral Home, 519-433-5184. Online condolences, memories and photographs shared at www.amgfh.com

Sending you much love as you navigate this difficult time Monika. Thinking of you and your family. You were such a strong support for your mom. Praying you can find healing and peace through your memories together.
Sorry very very sorry for your loss. Thank you Monika for making our time of reminiscing with cousin Lois such a wonderful afternoon.
Lois was witty, sarcastic and full of surprises. She also was caring and compassionate and always open to sharing her knowledge with others.
I’m grateful I was able to visit her a few weeks back to share more memories. Work certainly won’t be the same without her.
My deepest sympathies to your family.
I was so sorry to hear of Lois’ passing. She was a great team player and will be missed by those who knew her at RWl.
With Prayers
What I remember most about Lois (from the first 7 years of her time at Region of Waterloo Library RWL) is her immense pride and love for her family — and the crazy stories she would tell. She had a knack for noticing and celebrating the absurd in every situation. A very valuable contribution to day-to-day worklife, to be sure.
I had the good fortune to talk with her a few months ago, when she was cataloguing my book, and I discovered that talent was still very much there.
I still can’t believe she commuted every single day from London to Philipsburg and back again. What a trooper!
Lois was one of the sweetest, funniest and wittiest co-workers/friends I have had – it was a true blessing to have known her. When I started working for the Region back in Feb 2017, Lois was one of the first administration people I met. When I transferred to work at headquarters in the position of Clerk last November, I always looked forward to coming in to the office and chatting with her and passing stories across the aisle with her. There are honestly no words that can express how much she will be missed. Work just will not be the same without her.
Sending my thoughts and prayers to all of the family.
Big hugs to you – Ursula, Monika, Sean, and Lilley. She loves you so much and will watch over you (look for signs from her). Lois will always be in my heart… she’s my friend, my birthday buddy, and a big part of the RWL family for me. She was warm and welcoming, right from the start, when I first volunteered at library headquarters. I love the time and the conversations we shared through the years. I will miss her in this life and I will be happy to see her again when it is my time. Rest in peace, Lois.
