DAVIDSON: Suddenly at his residence on Thursday, December 23rd, 2004 George L. Davidson of London in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Marjorie (Wilkins) Davidson. Dear father of Gary Davidson and his wife Eva Jean, Alan Davidson and his wife Krista, Paul Davidson all of London, Brian Davidson and his wife Marsha of Bright’s Grove and Lynne Player and her husband Scott of Toronto. Predeceased by his son David Davidson. Dear father-in-law of Brigatta Davidson of London. Dear brother of Mrs. Mary Hardick and her husband Ray of Shelburne, Ontario and Mrs. Margaret Giggey of Sarnia, Ontario. Also loved by his grandchildren Christopher, Jeffrey, Stephen, Donald, James, Natalie, Edward, Emily, Matthew, Sean, Kaelyn and Danielle Davidson and Cheryl and Andrew Player and his great-grandchildren Bradley, Ashley, Dorian, Megan and Ryan Davidson. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London, where the complete funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Monday, December 27th at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Sheldon W. Dyck of First Baptist Church officiating. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Shriners’ Hospitals for Children, 468 Colborne Street, London, ON N6B 2T3. A masonic service under the auspices of St. John’s Lodge No. 209a A.F. & A.M. will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 7 o’clock. Mr. Davidson was former Flying Officer G.L. Davidson, 424 SQD Bomber Command; former Vice- President of Hobbs Hardware Co. Ltd., former President of Davidson Builders Hardware, a 33rd Degree Honorary Inspector General of the Supreme Council, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Canada; Potentate of Mocha Temple (1981); Life member of St. John’s Lodge No. 209a A.F. & A.M.; member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Springbank Branch No. 533, a member of St. John’s Chapter No. 3 Royal Arch Masons; and the Preceptory. My father, Cliff Davidson was the son of Wm. Maitland Davidson. I have been interested in my family history and do have a picture of George in his service uniform from the 1940’s….unfortunately, I did not have occasion to meet him personally. I do know of him, however, and he will be missed. My condolences to the family.
