Dear Sumner family,
Was surprised to hear of Kirk’s sudden passing, and may we offer you our deepest sympathy at this time. It’s been a long time since we have shared fellowship, however you are still dear to our hearts.
I first met Kirk when he was a teen sitting in the balcony of Glen Cairn and I was ushering, from there we established a lasting friendship. Some things come to mind, like Kirk buying that old Mercury, driving it out west….
Our hearts go out to you at this time, and Ron, please note, when we got the news, a few Brigademen were preparing for this weekend’s camporee, and your family was uplifted in prayer.
In Christ’s love, John and Carol Webster
Dear Ron & Ellen, and family,
I don’t know if you remember me, but I went to Glen Cairn years ago. Both Norm and our daughter, Rachel, have gone to be with the Lord, so I have a little understanding of what you are going through.
May God put His loving arms around you and give you peace and comfort. I will be praying for you.
Florence
Dear Sumner family,
I was so sorry to hear of Kirk’s passing. My fondest memories of high school and senior year of football always remind me of Kirk’s friendship and all the fun times we had with all the boys back then. Those are the epic stories I still tell today. He will be missed.
My thoughts and prayers,
Tim Brewer.
We are so sorry to hear of the death of your son Kirk. Our family want you to know that you are both in our prayers at this time and if we can help in any way , please don’t hesitate to call on us. Our friendship goes back a long way and you are always in our heart. Berenice & George Gander.
Dear Ron & Ellen, Our sincere sympathy to you and your family. It is at this time when your faith must provide you with the strength to keep your spirit up.

It is with great sadness that I have received the news of Kirk’s passing from my brother Eric.
My heartfelt sympathies go out to his family and loved ones.
Kirk was a feared linesman, but had a heart of gold when it came to real life issues. I could never get him to budge on the field, and the trend continued in the cafeteria when I tried (in vain) to get one up on him during our daily sandwich trading routines.
Good Bye Kirk, you will be missed by many, including the kid you protected on the turf. God Bless
My deepest sympathies…..’Coach’ of 9-0 team.
Dear Sumner family.
Please accept our deepest sympathies on the untimely passing of Kirk. I remember Kirk well, and often think of him when I reflect back on my days at Laurier. Although he was a few years ahead of me, he always took the time to talk, and instill in me the fundamentals of a game he played so well. He was an awesome competitor, feared by many on the field but loved by all off the field. He was an incredible human being and I am sure I echo the sentiments of many when I say he was a special person who was held in the highest regard.
Until we meet again, goodbye my friend, you will be missed
Mark
To the Sumner Family
Death is not the enemy of life, but its friend, for it is the knowledge that our years are limited which makes them so precious. (Joshua Loth Liebman).
