To Judy Darling:
I just got the sad news of the death of your father. My deepest sympathies to you, your mother and the rest of your family. Although I never met your father, I knew from how you talked about him what a special part he played in all your lives.

Mr. Childs was an exceptionally kind, thoughtful, honest and loving individual. I feel especially honoured to have known him and to have felt his kindness on many occasions. You have all been fortunate to have had his love for all these years and I know you all will miss him terribly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
With great affection, Jack and Jo-Anne, Kerri, Sean and Jackie.

Dear Judy & Brian, Cameron, Malcolm, Sue, Chuck & Anne
So very sorry to read about your Dad & Grandfather’s death in the Gazette on Saturday. Having seen and spoken to Chuck about him this summer, it came as a shock.
What wonderful memories we have of him at the lake and always think of your family with a special fondness.
Please know your thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Dear Chuck,
I wanted to express my deepest sympathies to you and the rest of your family on the sudden loss. This won’t mean much to the rest I suppose but I do remember that a large part of our conversations during the down times of a certain negotiation evolved around your father and my son. It struck me at the time what a wonderful and close relationship you and your father had and it bought me hope that I too would share and know that kind of a relationship with my son Daniel. We should all be so lucky.
My thoughts and best wishes are with you my friend.
Your pal always
Hugh
