Dear Paul and Ruth;
We were very sad to get the phone call yesterday Paul that your father, had passed on. You will miss the trips to London weekly, but it comforting to know he is not suffering any more.
We are very sorry that we will be away next week and uable to attend the funeral. It is very difficult to loose a parent as we all seem to get our turn in life, but I know your father was very proud to have a wonderful son like you Paul.
Sincere sympathy to you and your dear wife Ruth, and also Jeni. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time.
Lots of Love, Larry, Joyce and family

My mother was Mary McNeill – her mother was Emma Jane Ross from Union Rd. PEI. Alton was a cousin of my mother’s. I met Alton just once, the summer of 2002 on PEI when he was visiting relatives and old friends. He was able to tell us many stories about family that we had not known before. My mother had passed away earlier that summer and as it happened, Alton was there for her memorial service in August and we were very moved to think he would take the time to attend. We so enjoyed his visit afterwards and just wished that he lived nearer so we could continue to learn about the old times. My sincere condolences on his passing. Ann Hardcastle Halifax NS

I was sorry to read of the death of Alton in the newspaper this morning. He was one of my mother’s teachers at the Brudenell School. Her name was Doris Nicholson O’Connor and every summer, Alton would stop in to visit when he was home. He also would attend the Montague Presbyterian Church which is my home church and I would have a little visit with him. He seemed to really enjoy his visits to the Island and I am glad that he had a long pleasant life. I hope you have lots of great memories to look back on.

Hi to the family of Alton Ross:
I was sorry to hear Alton passed away. He was a great friend to my mother, Elsie (Mellish) Carver (married to Fred Carver) on the Union Road. Alton came to visit Mom every time he came to the Island for a visit and of course he visited with Ellsworth Ross as well. Mother talked fondly of Alton things they did as kids. My mother passed away Dec. 16, 2005. You have my deepest sympathy.
