I met Doug and Irene through a Fully Alive program quite a few years ago and we kept in touch over the years. Doug and I were email buddies and I have missed that during his illness, now I will also miss him and his great caring spirit.
We always looked forward to our visits to London, to be with a man who always had interesting stories, anecdotes and observations, as well as his keen sense of humour !
He loved Irene, his “war-bride”, and very much missed her after her passing in2013. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him, family and friends alike.
Saddened to learn of Doug’s passing . I will always remember this “Gentle Giant” in my life welcoming me into his group at Greenhills one day . His huge hands and heart grabbed me for life . He was a great golfing enthusiast helping to organize the Masters League and other volunteer activities . WE know Graham and Gail have many great memories to sustain them in these difficult days ahead .
