Passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday at Victoria Hospital, London Ontario, in his 100th year. Husband of 71 years of Reta (Mayberry). Predeceased by his son David (2000). Lovingly remembered by daughter Karen (William) Butt and grandchildren Geoffrey (Maria), Heather (Jim), Erica (Jamie), Nadine (Jamie), and nine great-grandchildren: Alexis, Connor, Diego, Quinn, Isabella, Avery, Samuel, Thea and Wrenn. George also leaves daughter-in-law Elaine and sister-in-law Marianna Mayberry. He was employed for almost 40 years at Hiram Walker Inc. George was one of the founding members of the Greater Windsor Seniors Centre. His hobby was carpentry; he built his own cottage and enjoyed life with family and friends there through the years. Cremation. Friends will be received by the family Thursday April 24, 2014 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Sreet South, London where the funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Friday April 25 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Kenji Marui, officiating. Interment in Victoria Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Windsor at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Mission and Service Fund United Church of Canada, 3250 Bloor Street West, Suite 300, Toronto, ON M8X 2Y4.
