Obituary

WILTSHIRE, Elizabeth (Walter) passed into the presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Monday, September 24, 2012 at Parkwood Hospital, London, Ontario. Beloved wife to Ken through 57 years of marriage and cherished by daughters Christine Ingram (Brian), Karen Evershed, and Janet Hisey (Don). Loving grandmother of Hilary, Mark, Lesley, Robyn, Sandi, Michael, Elizabeth, and Julia. Elizabeth was deeply loved by her sister Wilma Reiss (Heinz) and late (2010) brother Theo Walter (Traudel) and families in Germany. A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will take place at a memorial service on Sunday, September 30 at 3 p.m. at Westview Baptist Church, 1000 Wonderland Road South, London, with visitation with the family one hour prior at 2 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Elizabeth could consider Compassion Canada at www.compassion.ca.     Wonderful memories of Elizabeth at Calvary Baptist Church Oakville. Always remember her welcoming smile and laugh when we met and the calm faith that made her a very special friend to many. Sadly missed.

    I recognized the name in the Oakville Beaver today. Having been a past acquaintance or friend of Christine, Brian, Karen, Janet and Don (hockey), through Public School (E.A.Orr), High School (Blakelock), and local christian churches (Hopedale BC or what is now Harvest Baptist), it really hit home. Even though I never knew your mom (in law) directly, I can sure empathize having known her children and what they must be going through. My thoughts and sincere prayers are with you all.

    Being still in Oakville, I cannot attend the service, but I would love to hear an update from any of you.

    Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, especially Janet and Don and their children, Michael, Elizabeth and Julia. From living next door to them, we grew to appreciate the importance Janet’s mother played in their lives. We are extremely saddened by their loss and send our deepest condolences.

    Just last Sunday we were reminiscing with the Hutchisons about the great and fun-filled times we shared with Ken and Elizabeth when they lived in Oakville.Times she would invite us for tea and goodies.
    Old friends,like a rear piece of gold our old friends.Now God has called her to dine with Him.
    We offer our deepest codolences to Ken and family.Although saddened by the earthly loss,we are happy that Elizabeth is enjoying her heavenly stay with her Lord and Saviour, and is free from all the sufferings of this present world.
    May God give to all of the family,His comfort and peace in this time of grieving.

    I am sorry to hear of your great loss, your sweatheart of 57 years. I cannot imagine your pain. I often think of you and Elizabeth and our great times serving together in ministry at Calvary Baptist Church. My time with you in particular will always be cherished as wonderful times of being mentored by a great friend. Elizabeth supported you and made it possible for you to contribute so much to the mentoring of young men like me. You are a blessed man to have had this great lady to support you and your family throughout the years. Lorie and I looked up to the two of you as role models, “Jesus with skin on”. We miss seeing you, but soon we will all be together forever and ever. What a blessed hope. Take comfort in the hope we have in Christ.

    Mrs. Wiltshire will always be remembered by me as the woman who introduced me to salami on toast, and open faced sandwiches. And, as part of a couple who shared their home, and sometimes their family vacation with me. Life is a gift, but giving it away to others means you live forever. With much appreciation, respect, and love I remember Mrs. Wiltshire.

    So glad we had that visit just a few years ago. I’m back in Ontario next year and will see you again then. Until then — may the blessing in each day give you comfort and solace.

    I will always remember the great times we shared with your mom and family over the years. I do miss our “church family” at Calvary Baptist and am glad that we had a connection to wonderful people that all became family to us.
    Wish we could have been with you on Sunday. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very sad time.
