HORNE, Leigh
At Victoria Hospital, London on Thursday, December 31, 2009 Leigh Horne of London in her 29th year. Beloved daughter of Tracy Vignale (Brian) and Tim Horne (Rhonda).Loved mother of Monica and Ruby and step-son Nathan. Dear sister of Denise Horne (Nicholas), Denton Horne, Daryl Horne (Shannon) and Adam Wilmer (Tiffany). Loved granddaughter of Mary Vignale and Duncan Vignale and Dorothy Horne and Donald Horne. Also survived by nephews Colin and Alexander and niece Olivia as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London where a memorial service will be conducted in the chapel on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 1:00 pm with Reverend Thomas D. Hiscock officiating. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the World Vision Canada, 1 World Drive, Mississauga, ON L5T 2Y4 would be appreciated. Online condolences accepted at www.amgfh.com

I am truly saddened by Leigh’s death. Leigh was more than just a friend; she was an amazing person. She was always so kind and considerate to us that we always welcomed seeing her.

Although we were never close friends, it was always obvious to me that there was something unique and exceptional about you. Your body has passed on but your spirit remains in the memories of those who had the opportunity to befriend you. My heart goes out to your loved ones.

You were one of my very first friends, I don’t remember a time in my life that I didn’t know you. It was always you and me the oldest of all the kids. It would be us watching all those kids, running after them, yelling, pulling our hair out and even laughing like crazy. I am a patient who visits the Gamma-Dynacare lab on a regular basis. When I attended the clinic today
(January 20, 2010), I expected to be greeted by Leigh, as I normally would be. Noting her absence, her co-workers informed me of her passing.
I feel compelled to let her loved ones know how greatly Leigh will be missed at her workplace. Her warm smile and sweet personality were beautifully combined with her knowledge and professionalism. We were lucky patients to be in Leigh’s care.
This dear young lady touched my heart and I will miss her.

Dear Leigh,
As each day goes by I hope it will get easier, but lately I find myself remembering a treasure chests worth of memories all but forgotten. Every time I look into my nieces faces I see parts of you from when we were children…Monica’s temper mostly ;), but also Ruby’s shining personality and both of their smiles.
As each day goes by, I accept that you’re gone, but I miss you more and more.
